Well Site Geologist will be the person-in-charge on the rig during drilling for Subsurface team. He will bethe focal point of communications between Head Office and the rig, as well as the person to lead the wellsite geological duties.
Monitor and report on all geological aspects of drilling operations in accordance with acceptedstandards and procedures practiced by qualified industry professionals.
Ensure all geological and mud logging tasks are performed safely (to promote a safe working environment).
Be responsible for the preparation and submission of daily geological reports
Monitor and supervise mudlogging operations.
Monitor LWD and wireline logging operations
Prepare and make the coring point decisions when coring.
Supervise core retrieval, packaging and dispatch
Prepare and present summary reviews if and when required
Interact and communicate effectively with Drilling staff offshore Communicate effectively with the Operational geologist at Head Office
In-charge and team leader to Mudloggers, Pressure Engineer and Sample Catcher for the Mudlogging Unit
Job Knowledge and Qualifications:
BSc Degree for academic qualifications
Familiar with Sarawak Waters/Geology is preferable
5+ years industry experience in WSG (Malaysian experience preferable)
Comprehensive knowledge of wireline and FEWD technologies and interpretation procedures.
Good knowledge of and sound working experience with geotechnical software.
Sound PC skills
Good oral and written presentation skills
