Build your career as mooring master as you build some of the most challenging and complex projects in the world today.About this role Key responsibilities:• Contribute, review and understand the drilling and formation evaluation programme prior to drilling commencement;• Technical and quality assurance for all work carried out by drilling/subsurface data acquisition contractors; and the quality of the subsurface data acquired;• Liaising with drilling and data acquisition contractors / consultants to ensure optimized tool utilization and data acquisition program that will meet the well objectives;• Direct liaison with drilling/subsurface contractor to ensure alignment of drilling programs with subsurface requirements/objectives. If necessary, recommend modifications and/or additions to the logging programmes in coordination with the Operations Geologist and theDrilling Supervisor;• Direct liaison with Drilling Supervisor at rig-site to ensure optimized geological data gathering, constant geological update and highlight of geological risk/findings during actual drilling operation;• Ensure correct transmittal, copying, packaging and distribution of all geological data from wireline logs, core, LWD logs, mud logs, sample cuttings, and fluid samples;• Daily completion and correspondence of geological reporting and operations reports which summarizes last 24 hrs drilling activities, relevant cutting descriptions, gas or oil shows, drilling fluid data and provisional formation tops with comparison of prognosed to actual depths;• Ensuring safety and HSSEAI compliance of all well operations and data acquisition program and their personnel.About you Requirement:• Graduate in Geology or related Earth Science degree;• Registered as Professional Geologist with Board of Geologists Malaysia (BoG);• Have strong technical skills in Wellsite Geology with at least 5 years relevant practical petroleum industry experience especially on geology application in wellsite operations;• Local and international experience in both exploration and development drilling operations and data acquisition. Geological knowledge and experience on Malay Basin and PM304 is an advantage;• Conversant about wellsite drilling equipments and data acquisition / formation evaluation tools from direct association with previous hydrocarbon drilling activities;• Good interpersonal skills possessing excellent verbal and written communication with all levels of the organization, and able to liaise comfortably with the asset / functional management team members on important issues pertaining to operations geology;• Strong analytical skill, capable of analysing / sorting through detailed information and meticulous in ensuring quality deliverables;• Good leadership skills and be self-motivated to accomplish world-class results with the ability to guide direct / indirect reports to deliver their objectives; comfortable with taking responsibility and being held accountable for delivering results;• Good influencing skills, able to influence and provide first-level challenge to drilling decisions based on operations geology and subsurface requirements;• Have a sufficiently broad experience base to be able to exercise independent thought and decision making;• Able to build and maintain good working relationship with drilling/subsurface contractors;• Able to work well as a team, prioritize, multi-task and take ownership of project;• Computer literate; being able to work, assess and provide technical assurance on the utilization of softwares related to wellsite geology.
