This position will support the oil and gas development and exploration offshore Newfoundland working for multiple clients. The successful candidate will receive top notch training to develop the required skills of becoming Well Site Geologist.As Well Site Geologist, you will be responsible for: Reporting to Schlumberger and liaising with Client representatives onshore and offshoreHelp the Client drill safely and cost efficientlyKeeping detailed records, writing reports, completing daily, weekly and post-well reporting logs and sending these to appropriate departmentsStudy and evaluate offset data sets and cross reference with well planningStudy, analyze and describe rock formations that are being drilledAdvise on drilling optimization and drilling hazardsMonitor and communicate pore pressures, overburden, shallow formation and reservoir risks that may lead to operational problems to Well engineering teamLocate and identify formation boundariesEvaluate and interpret data from drilling, wireline logging and coringSupervising Mudlogging, MWD and wireline services personnel and monitoring quality control in relation to these servicesMaintaining up-to-date knowledge of MWD (measuring while drilling) tools, such as gamma and resistivity, as geosteering becomes increasingly importantFollow and uphold all Schlumberger QHSE Standards and promote their respect, understanding and adherence.You will have a minimum of: Deepwater HPHT experienceBachelor’s Degree in GeologyMinimum 5 years’ field experience, preferably in Eastern CanadaOilfield experience mandatoryProficient in computer useJob Type: Full-time
