Description

International oil and gas services company is seeking a Well Planning Consultant for a long term contract based in Downtown New Orleans. Role will entail plotting and manipulating the trajectories and deepwater Gulf of Mexico wellbores within the context of the entire field, in a 3D field wide model.
Responsibilities:

Assist team building models for field development and well planning projects, gathering and converting data into necessary formats
Organize and facilitate collaborative well planning sessions between well delivery and subsurface teams
Daily sessions with engineers and G&G; team to communicate context of updated earth model
Verify data integrity and integration between Landmark systems (OpenWells, DSWP, Compass) and in-house systems (Petrel, 123DI, Openworks)
Perform anti-collision analysis using Compass and Decision Space visualization tools
Liaise with subject matter experts on key challenges
Support team with collaborative planning sessions during execution phase
Participate in operation engineering meetings when necessary
Prepare offset KM cube data in OpenWells and verify in AssetView

 

Plot well trajectory in COMPASS
Plot well trajectory in Decision Space Well Plan
Have strong understanding of the constraints that affect directional drilling
Have strong fluency in Decision Space platform
