The primary purpose of the role is to manage and maintain well integrity in compliance with Regulatory requirements and Shell QGC’s technical standards.
Responsible for assisting in further development and management of the Well Integrity Management System in conjunction with key stakeholders including Production Operations, WRFM, Asset Integrity, Production Technology, and Well Engineering.
You will champion the continuous improvement of QGC’s corrosion management plan consistent with maintaining Shell QGC as the industry leader with respect to Goal Zero and competitiveness.
Additional dimensions include being an active member of Shell’s Production Technology community on the local and global stages. The role also provides opportunities for future broadening into the other core competencies in the Production Technology discipline.
Some of the key deliverables and responsibilities of this role are:
Champion the use of QGC’s Well Integrity Management Standard (WIMS) and Well Failure Model (WFM), ensuring they are maintained for all well types and potential failure modes. Prepare, plan, and coordinate well integrity tests, including analyses of test results in eWIMS, ensuring compliance to the WFM. Co-ordinate integrated well integrity reviews, ensuring priority, assigning correct action codes and communicating with key stakeholders. Prepare deviations containing sufficient and relevant technical data and problem analysis with remedial plans to support rectification within agreed dates. Prepare, conduct and close-out annulus investigations. Participate in and seek approval for the development of new technology and or novel solutions to potential well integrity issues. Assist with the strategic evolution of well integrity in a dynamic business environment. Provide input into future upgrades/enhancements of well integrity support functions and information systems consistent with the above. Ensure tasks as outlined in the WIMS are carrier out and potential risks are managed throughout the lifecycle of the wells. Audit of company functions against the requirements of the WIMS. Track and report internal and external KPI’s and prepare monthly, quarterly and annual Well Integrity reports and scorecards. Provide Well Integrity support to field specific operational matters including investigations and onsite training. Maintain ongoing compliance with Shell and State/Federal Regulatory requirements for Well Integrity, participating in internal and external audits as required.

Possessing tertiary qualifications in an engineering discipline – (petroleum or mechanical preferred) or equivalent qualification / experience with some solid background in a technical professional role in the oil and gas industry from production technology, operations, well engineering, or completion and well interventions.
You should have knowledge, understanding and experience with well completion and wellhead design along with well-site and operational exposure.
Coming from a strong analytical and problem-solving background you will find multiple solutions to obstacles and determine the best course of action.
An excellent communicator to a wide variety of audience types you will have the ability to work in and influence multi-disciplinary teams and manage multiple stakeholders from both internal and external businesses.
You will have some field-based exposure to production operations and drilling and completion operations and a working knowledge of relevant petroleum/wells national and international codes of practices. Experience with technical software packages including eWIMS, EDM, FSR, GWMS (Maximo), Synergi, FIM (or similar) would be an advantage.
