Position Summary Our Tampa, FL office is looking for someone to help support ongoing resilience related projects in areas including (but not limited to) St. Pete, TNC, JEA, Pinellas County, Lee County and Collier County with increasing responsibility including project manager duties. Day to day responsibilities for the water resources/resilience candidate hired into the role include: Support the development, pursuit and delivery of planning and design projects associated with flood risk management and resilience related to sea level rise, coastal storm surge and rainfall flood risk. Support all stages of project, from climate scenario development, hazard analysis, vulnerability/risk assessments, alternatives analysis and prioritization through conceptual design including hardened engineered structures, natural-based solutions, and other non-structural approaches (e.g. land development codes, design criteria, comprehensive plans, policy, etc.). Support/lead GIS spatial analysis and flood mapping of large infrastructure systems related to flood risk. Support hydrologic modeling and analysis of flood risk using various software platforms which may include ArcHydro, ICPR, and SWMM software suites. Support alternatives analysis, conceptual project design and costing of flood mitigation improvements including triple bottom line and life cycle cost analysis.The successful candidate will:Maintain a strong local/regional industry working knowledge in the flood risk management and resilience space including environmental/ecological permitting.Maintain strong technical writing skills, detailed oriented data analysis and GIS analysis and mapping skills.Work well with multi-disciplinary teams across large geographical regions.
Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering, Hydro-geologist, Coastal Scientist, or related fieldsIf a degreed civil engineer, hold an EIT certification or PE licenseAt least 3 years of experience in civil infrastructure planning, design and implementation (3 -6 years of experience preferred)Strong communications skillsUnderstanding of climate science and related risks preferredArcGIS mapping and analysis proficiency preferredStrong technical writing skills#BIA At Jacobs, we help prepare people for new opportunities.
