The ideal candidate would have a minimum of 10 years (no more than 17) working for a top company in either a reservoir engineering or geological role, doing exploitation work. The total career experience level for this role is in the 12-17 year career range. This is a fast-paced entrepreneurial style environment so the client would prefer a candidate who has worked in a similar style company.For the VP of Exploitation role, our client is seeking an innovative and results-driven professional specializing in the following:Proven track record of value creation, need to be able to describe and quantify projects/acquisitions that they’ve identified, evaluated championed through executionPreference to candidates with small company or asset/business unit experience working closely with reservoir, geology, ops, drilling, etc.Someone who can lead the conversation and is assertiveEmphasis on thorough planning in order to minimize last minute changesConventional oil experienceExperience working with Private Equity would be highly desiredSupervise multi-disciplinary team of several geologist, engineers and technicians:Identifying and evaluating projects in existing asset base (recompletions, infill drilling, horizontal development, flood upside, etc.)Working with operations on project executionEvaluating acquisitions and other new opportunitiesPreparation of annual Reserve Report and annual mid-year internal Reserve ReportTracking, updating and forecasting base production and capital projects on a monthly basis for capital planning and reporting purposesExperience/Qualifications: Minimum education:Bachelor’s Degree required – Petroleum Engineering or MS in GeologyWell versed in economic modeling software (ARIES or similar) as well as Petra.
