Petroleum Engineering Vacation Employment Program
 
Chevron Australia is inviting petroleum engineering students with a keen interest in the oil and gas industry to apply for a 12-week vacation employment placement within our Perth office.
 
As a petroleum engineering vacation student, you will gain a better understanding of the role as a Petroleum Engineer within an integrated Subsurface team supporting world-class operations.
 
You will assist in evaluating reservoir and well performance and provide support to petroleum engineering field operations personnel responsible for monitoring and optimising well performance and integrity.
 
Throughout your placement, you will also be exposed to the routine management of gas production well operations in order to maintain asset integrity and optimise resource recovery. You will learn how to utilise well condition monitoring and reservoir surveillance data, and how these can impact short and long term business decisions.
 
Opportunities exist in our Wheatstone, Gorgon and Non-Operated Joint Venture Subsurface teams.
 
Following completion of the 12-week program, vacation students who consistently perform above expectations may be considered for full time graduate positions upon graduation from their studies, where roles are available.
 
Who We Are Looking For
 
Applicants will be:
 

In their penultimate year of a petroleum, chemical, process or mechanical engineering undergraduate, Honours, Masters of Engineering or PhD degree
Performing at a consistently high academic standard
Excellent communicators with strong analytical skills and a focus on teamwork

Available for full time work throughout the specified duration of employment from 26 November 2018 until 15 February 2019
Please note the program is limited to local students currently studying at a Western Australian tertiary institution
Eligible to legally work and live in Australia permanently

 
The following requirements are not compulsory but will be highly regarded:
 

Work experience in related and non-related areas will be held in high regard as will demonstrated involvement in extracurricular and community/volunteer activities
