Location: Reservoir Group - DSI
Reports to: Operations Manager
Position Type: Full Time
About the Position:
This position will involve working on site with downhole tools including Plugs, MHA's including Mills, cleanout and fishing tools, on site customer relations and up sales and other basic duties.
General Responsibilities
•Perform on site Thru-Tubing operations: Milling and drill out operations and plug setting
•Tool redressing, job load out and equipment selection
•Keep and prepare accurate delivery tickets, job logs, time sheets, toolbox meetings and run sheets
•Advise and support customers on proper procedures and tool capabilities and their corresponding data and requirements
•Occasional pick up and drop off of tools in AB and surrounding area
•Ability to teach and train less experienced tool hands
•Advise DSI customers and management on troubleshooting techniques
•Data and statistical analysis for reports and job tracking
•Customer relations and field sales - Internal and external
•Assit with shop duties including building maintenance, cleaning, organizing, assist in inventory control and tracking
•Understand load securement, journey management , hazardous material handling and GHIS, hydrogen sulphide exposure prevention, petroleum safety awareness, fall protection regulations,
•Carry out duties at the highest level of work quality

Technical Responsibilities
•Thorough knowledge of all DSI available tools and their Specifications and uses and all DSI services
•Make Up and break down of tool strings
•Milling operation, plug setting and drill out operations
•Use of Drift tools, motor head Assemblies
•Capacity to accurately Pull and Pressure testing
•Maintain data records for statistics, run rates, usage
•Understand co-efficients and tool performance envelopes
•Proper torquing techniques to meet specifications
•Efficiently and properly run and install composite bridge plugs
•Establish difference between differential and off bottom pressure for positive displacement motor operations
•Determines the need and use of equipment when on a job
•Required to work on a 24 hours on call basis
•Perform various other duties assigned by supervisor within the physical constraints of the job
•Must attend all thru- tubing related DSI technical training
•Use correct methods in accordance with the established procedures and schedules while ensuring analytical quality;
•Observe established safety regulations and comply with all Reservoir Group health and safety policies and procedures;
•Other duties as assigned.
The ideal candidate would have:
•Excellent customer relations and interaction abilities
•Thru -Tubing, or Coil Tubing experience preferred
•Experience with multiple oilfield services including pumping services, electric wireline, fishing and downhole tools is an asset
•Clean Driver's Abstract and Valid driver's licence,
•Ability to travel
•H2S Alive, First aid/ CPR, IRP 16 or PST ability to pass drug and alcohol tests.
•Motivated, mechanically inclined, safe and strong minded individuals who have the capacity to work well with little supervision and be willing to learn and grow and succeed with our company

You would also be/have:
•Thorough knowledge of all DSI tools, their specifications and uses and all DSI services including; milling, clean out, fishing and plug setting.
•Understand all components of well bore dynamics including well bore cleanout and debris management
•Knowledge of well geometry and hydraulics
•Flow rate calculations (read, write and interpret)
•Use, read and understand flow patterns to determine annular velocity
•Read and analyze data for statistics, run rates, usage
•Continue training to expand knowledge and experience of Thru-Tubing services
•The ability to work well with little supervision
•Excellent understanding of computer applications (MS Office Suite);
•Excellent English communication skills both written and verbal and ability to read English;
•Strong organizational skills and attention to detail;
Physical Demands:
•Able to sit/stand for prolonged periods of time;
•Extensive walking or movement, bending, kneeling, and working with industrial equipment;
•Comfortable in environments with high noise levels;
•Extensive travel to field locations, either domestic or international for prolonged periods of time;
•Driving to site which may include driving in adverse road and weather conditions;
•Able to work in outdoor environments, at times in extreme hot or cold weather conditions;
•Manual dexterity to perform intricate tasks.
•This position requires ability to lift up to 50lbs (occasionally lifting may exceed 50lbs and assistance is mandatory from another employee or person);
•Please note that Reservoir Group operates 24/7 and will require day, afternoon, and graveyard shift work including weekends.
