Harvest has an immediate opening based in Calgary for a Thermal Geologist (Specialist) reporting to the

Surface Director. The Thermal Geologist will be accountable for all geological analyses, and workflow
associated with supporting the development of BlackGold project. This position will work as part of a
multidisciplinary team consisting of Reservoir, Geology, Production and Completion to ensure that all
geological inputs are captured in the development planning, design and operations for the BlackGold asset.

The BlackGold oil sands project is located approximately 10 km southeast of Conklin, Alberta. BlackGold
will utilize SAGD as a proven production technology that uses horizontal drilling and thermal stimulation to
maximize energy efficiency and minimize land disturbance.

Key Responsibilities : Integrate, analyze, model and validate geological, petrophysical and geophysical data with
uncertainty analysis within Petrel to create reservoir models that meets corporate objectives and
milestones Ensure Integrity of key reservoir components during upscaling to simulation model Provide geological support to reservoir engineers in history matching, forecasting and simulation
studies Collaborate with reservoir and production engineers to implement an actionable long term
development plan Compile thorough project reports on completed 3D geological models highlighting workflows,
assumptions and follow-up agendas Provide Geological expertise and leadership within a multi-disciplinary team to ensure optimal
design and placement of SAGD wells Design and coordinate laboratory work/testing for routine and special core analysis, including
project and cost management Coordination of inputs into the reserves assessment process, according to the COGEH (Canadian
Oil and Gas Evaluation Handbook) standards Mentoring junior professional staff in both their technical and professional business development Communication of key geological concepts to team members and senior management Other duties as assigned

Qualifications : APEGA PGeo Member in Good Standing Minimum ten (10+) years demonstrable heavy oil/ SAGD experience in Clearwater and McMurray Commitment to HSE and technical excellence Highly organized with excellent analytical, integration and project management abilities Excellent communication, interpersonal and team focused skills Theory and knowledge including, but not limited to:

 Understanding of clastic sedimentology and stratigraphy
 Sequence stratigraphy, core Logging, facies identification

 Statistical reservoir modeling and characterization

 Petrophysical analysis

 Reserves assessment

 Horizontal drilling, geosteering and thermal development SAGD is preferred
 Strong computer skills, and experience with geoscience software tools (Petrel,

Paradigm, Geolog, Power log) Preference will be given to candidates with modeling and SAGD experience.
