The Technician, Geology Database will serve as an integral member of the Geological & Geophysical team with responsibilities including, but not limited to, the following:
Monitors synchronization of Geologic well-related data between various databases and projects using Innerlogix software
Works with IT Department to test synchronization enhancements and beta-test new system software
Assists Geological & Geophysical Department with broad range of geological and database technical support
Generates maps and performs various updates, from internal and external datasets/resources, using GeoGraphix
Manages geologic and seismic data in various programs/databases
Depth registers and digitizes well logs
Generates prognoses, new well records and performs well updates
Performs data-related scouting activities and reduction/summation of data
Manages cuttings & core inventory
Manages Geology file room and off-site ‘data storage’
Manages Department data requirements to State agencies
Comply with Seneca’s EHSQ policies, standards and procedures and demonstrate active and regular involvement in EHSQ programs.
This position requires a Bachelor's degree, preferably in Geology or related field
Candidates with a strong background in database management and related computer skills are preferred
A basic understanding of horizontal drilling in the Marcellus and Utica is preferred
Strong proficiency in MS Office (Access, Excel, PowerPoint) is required
Familiarity and experience with GeoGraphix and ArcGIS is a plus
The successful candidate must be able to effectively manage diverse database projects and multiple competing demands with unique deadlines
Excellent verbal and written communication skills are important
A high level of accuracy and attention to detail is essential
Ability to work well in a team environment is critical
The successful candidate must be authorized to work in United States of America.
