Brisbane QLDTemporaryKey Duties and Accountabilities: • Deliver technical assessment services and advice that enables the department to make critical decisions in relation to petroleum and gas resource exploration and development, tenure administration and compliance in Queensland.• Support efficient tenure administration by establishing and maintaining effective links with technical and administrative officers in the Georesources Division.• Prepare and present clear and effective briefings, correspondence, reports and submissions concerning technical, operational and commercial viability matters relating to Queensland's oil and gas resources for a range of clients including the Minister and Executive Management.• Liaise and negotiate with industry on the administration of petroleum authorities and help resolve issues arising from petroleum exploration and development activities, particularly those relating to unconventional resources. • Lead a multi-disciplinary team to provide quality, timely and professional advice to support the effective administration of petroleum and gas tenure.• Coach and mentor employees and encourage professional development and continuous learning.• Contribute to strategic planning and the development of legislation, departmental policies, practices, procedures, strategies and reports that promote streamlined processes and improved opportunities for responsible development and investment in Queensland's petroleum resources.• Represent the department in conferences, seminars and education initiatives and other industry and consumer forums, and liaise and negotiate with stakeholder government agencies, industry and public interest groups, on petroleum and geothermal legislation.• Other duties as directed and required.
