Apply your extensive technical experience as a professional Geologist, and take on an exciting new A&D; and Advisory opportunity focused on oil and gas within Canada and internationally.
As a passionate and curious career Geologist, you’ll use your extensive experience to evaluate upstream opportunities for clients, and in the process gain maximum exposure to banking. Building relationships across the business, you’ll evaluate and develop recommendations and play summaries for conventional and unconventional oil & gas assets. From this, you will work to present findings and provide advice to clients and counterparties on asset performance and quality.
As the geotechnical subject matter expert on the team, you will perform comprehensive geologic analysis and produce cross sections and structure, net and gross isopach, residual, net pay, OHCIP and recovery factor maps in support of buy and sell side A&D; mandates and strategic client advisory efforts.
By staying current on industry activity and A&D;/advisory opportunities, you’ll be able to answer questions and address concerns for clients and counterparties. Utilizing your technical writing and presentation skills you’ll be responsible for generating non-confidential teasers, confidential information memorandums and presentations, as well as support creation and maintenance of VDRs.
To be successful in the role, you’ll have:
a minimum of 12 years’ experience as a practicing oil and gas geologist, with broad exposure to carbonates and clastics and major play types within the WCSB and internationally, especially tight sands and shale resource plays
demonstrated understanding of the most active plays in Western Canada including reservoir characteristics, sweet spots, key players, play concerns and how geological factors affect economics and profitability
in depth understanding of sedimentology, depositional environments, petroleum systems and petrophysics
superior ability to use current industry standard software tools to expediently generate high quality interpretations and visual output including maps, cross-sections and presentation slides
proven ability to work in a fast-paced environment in multidisciplinary teams with short deadlines and flexibility to work extended hours when required.
