An opportunity is available to join a growing petroleum industry software developer in the role of Technical Sales Geologist.
The ideal candidate will have knowledge on data acquisition, logging systems and geological reservoir modelling. This position requires an understanding of technical sales strategies and suitable candidates will be able to understand the psychology of each individual client and tailor their demonstration and support to ensure high quality and knowledgeable experience for that client.
Responsibilities will include;
Act as the technical focal point during the testing of geological modelling software by any client in Australia and New Zealand - onsite and remotely.
Accompanying the sales account managers to onsite pre-sale meetings to demonstrate the geological modelling software
Proactively scope the technical solution required to address customer requirements ensuring appropriate technical support for the proposed solution
Participate in conferences, shows, exhibitions when appropriate and requested
Provide training to customers and employees when needed
Identify additional business development opportunities within Oil & Gas companies and ensure these opportunities are covered and followed up on by the sales team.
Suitable candidates will have;
Tertiary qualification in Geoscience
Minimum 3 - 5 years in a geoscience or technical geoscience sales position
Extensive knowledge of geological reservoir modelling tools
Excellent client facing and communication skills
Strong attention to detail
Must be motivated and able to work with minimal supervision
This role will be offered on a 12 month contract with a strong possibility of extension for the right candidate.
