Temporary, Internship, ApprenticeshipReporting to the Manager, Geoscience, the Summer Student will work with the Geology team by providing professional, efficient and effective support. The summer student will assist with day-to-day technical evaluations of our assets and have the opportunity to apply academic concepts in the workplace. This position is based out of our Calgary head office and is a 4 month work term starting in May.
Interpret well logs to create geologic maps, cross sections, and presentations.
Analyze regional oil sands core to assist with mapping and reservoir characterization.
Compile and organize past geotechnical studies.
Conduct analysis and review of oil sands projects using public and company data sources.
Study steam chamber development at MacKay River Commercial Project.
Other duties as required.
Currently working toward a degree in Geology, 3rd year preferred.
Able to manage confidential materials in a professional and appropriate manner.
Confident, detail orientated and enthusiastic team player.
Strong interpersonal, communication, organizational and analytical skills.
Flexible and able to manage multiple priorities simultaneously; meet the time demands of unpredictable activities; capable of handling pressure and challenges in a dynamic business environment.
