Temporary, Internship, ApprenticeshipReporting to the Manager, Reservoir, the Summer Student will support the Reservoir Engineering team with various projects while providing professional, efficient and effective support. The student will work as part of a multi-disciplinary team focused on the engineering and operations of our MacKay River Commercial Project. This position is based out of our Calgary head office and is a 4 month work term starting in May. Occasional travel to site may be required.
Prepare technical documents, memorandums and presentations.
Support the development of schedules, estimates, and execution plans in sustainment of operations for a 35,000 bbl/day SAGD project.
Assist with coordinating multi-discipline teams to complete risk, economic or technical based reviews.
Complete SAGD competitor benchmarking evaluation, including collecting, analyzing, and reporting on competitor data.
Review key reservoir engineering inputs such as optimal well placement, spacing and configuration to maximize the economic performance of the asset.
Assist with reservoir simulation and performance prediction.
Recommend methods to enhance economic production and recovery.
Develop production forecasts for individual wells, well patterns, and full projects.
Review new technologies used in the Oil Sands.
Support the data and information management initiatives required for the projects.
Currently working toward a degree in Engineering (Petroleum, Chemical or Mechanical), 3rd year preferred.
Strong academic performance as evidenced by your GPA.
Prior work experience obtained through internship, co-op or summer jobs is an asset.
Possess a results-oriented approach to work.

Demonstrates a positive attitude and a willingness to learn and take initiative.
Exhibits a strong ability to solve problems.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
