About this Opportunity
Cenovus is looking for highly motivated and ambitious Geology students to join our team. We are looking for individuals who can bring fresh ideas to the table, and who are willing to learn from some of the industry's most innovative and talented people. This is a 4 month term position beginning in May 2019 and will be based in our Calgary head office.
Complete an Exploration or Exploitation project, under the guidance of a mentor geoscientist, to directly support of Cenovus’s current business plan
Participate in project work that will contribute to your geotechnical development in areas may include stratigraphic interpretation, core description and analysis, well log analysis, geological mapping, seismic interpretation, and hydrocarbon volumetric analysis. Cross disciplinary development will be encouraged as well as business awareness of the oil and gas industry.
Complete formal courses including field trips to aid in your technical development
Legally entitled to work in Canada for the duration of your work term; able to produce documentation (e.g. work visa)
Available to begin work May 2019
Currently enrolled full-time in 3rd or 4th year of a geosciences program at an accredited post-secondary institution and returning to full-time studies after the work term
A minimum cumulative and major GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale (please attach copies of your transcripts)
Expected graduation date: Winter 2018 or later

Experience with subsurface geotechnical applications would be an asset
