We are currently seeking an Engineering Student to work with our Strategic Planning & Reserves Team. This position requires an organized and motivated individual who is ready to work in a fast-paced environment and take on new challenges. This 4-month work term will commence in May 2020. This position is based in Calgary.
This dynamic position will provide the successful candidate with an excellent opportunity to learn about the Oil & Gas industry in Western Canada as well as develop their petroleum engineering and reporting skills.
This will be a project-based work term where the successful candidate will work with a Senior Engineer to complete evaluations related to our corporate strategic plan and reserves processes. Typical tasks will include database generation, organization, and interpretation.
Enhance the current reporting systems used by the Reserves and Planning teams
Update existing Access Charts to utilize in-house reporting tools
Refine lookback process and presentation of results to improve corporate decisions
Work with IT to write data validation tests for Mosaic and create Power BI screens to communicate Budget / Lookbacks and Long-term Planning outcomes
The position is ideally suited for a student currently enrolled in a Bachelor of Science (Petroleum/Chemical/Mechanical Engineering/Computer Science) program. Petroleum industry related experience along with strong computer skills will be an asset of the successful candidate. The necessary software training will be provided for the successful candidate. Although strong training and one-on-one mentoring will be provided, the successful candidate must be able to work independently within a team environment. Experience with SQL is an asset.
