Position Summary The role of Staff Reservoir Engineer is a critical part of the Engineering and Asset Team Life Cycle Process. The candidate for this position should be a highly skilled and professional engineer with the ability to understand and evaluate cross functional problems. They must be able to work within the multidisciplinary Asset Teams, lead projects, and mentor younger associates. They will take an active role in working and managing all reservoir related work across the assets that compose CONSOL’s core development portfolio and work daily to help manage the priority of these assets relative to each other. This candidate should also have extensive experience in performing RTA, DCA, PTA, reservoir simulations, economic and financial analysis. The candidate should also have experience using Intersect, Aries, Harmony and/or similar software packages. They should also have the ability to effectively communicate their thoughts and findings not only to management and the Asset Teams, but also to the Operations Team in order to achieve the best return on investment and cash flow for the subject project. This position is located in Canonsburg, PA. Target Responsibilities Performing Rate Transient Analysis (RTA), Nodal Analysis, and Pressure Transient Analysis (PTA) Use Intersect to perform reservoir modeling to statistically tie completion design to anticipated production forecast Perform Decline Curve Analysis (DCA) and run economic risk analyses. This will also include type curve generation and well spacing analysis Conduct Monte Carlo simulations and stochastic analysis, correlation research, as well as history matching exorcises Construct and perform decision tree analyses Work with Engineering Advisers and Asset Managers to advance best practices and procedures as they relate to operations, modeling, and maximizing economic value of CONSOL’s E&P assets Mentor and facilitate the learning curve of other engineers within the Asset Team Work closely on a day to day basis with multidisciplinary teams (geology, land, marketing, etc.) to perform and advise in the asset evaluation and management process Optimize production using managed pressure drawdown and through compression analysis Support Reserve workflow process (production forecasting, economics reserve life, year-end LOE review) Minimum Requirements B.S. Petroleum Engineering (M.S. preferred) Minimum of eight (8) years of experience,10+ years preferred in unconventional shale plays Must have experience and be proficient with Intersect, Harmony, and Aries or similar software Must be able to perform RTA, DCA, PTA, Monte Carlo analysis, and be able to build complex project level economic analysis to support business case scenarios An advanced understanding of unconventional petroleum systems, reservoir mechanics, financial evaluations, project level economics, and the ability to concisely communicate these analyses to coworkers and management Must be willing to work within a diverse team and take a leadership/mentor role with less experienced engineers on the Asset Teams
