The ideal candidate will demonstrate a record of varied technical exposure to many global basins & petroleum systems, with a broad exploration and new ventures experience. They will need to demonstrate fundamental skills in generating and maturing exploration prospects, from new ventures/regional and play identification to prospect level evaluation, risking and a firm understanding of geologic models for resource estimation using risking and statistical software such as GeoX. Additional skills include a background in depositional systems and track record of integrating depositional environments with seismic interpretation. Experience with basin modeling/petroleum systems a plus. Previous experience working Deepwater Gulf of Mexico and Deepwater Mexico will be an advantage.
Regional and play evaluation including regional seismic mapping, integration of depositional environments, basin modeling, presenting materials to management to support work.
Prospect Generation – Assessing the prospectivity of an area by interpreting seismic and well logs, generating maps, cross sections, basin modeling, presenting materials to management to support work.
Peer assist; collaboration both within the team and external support
Risking and resource estimations
Experience & Education
10+ years of industry experience. Background in depositional systems and application integrating depositional environments with seismic. Basin modeling a plus. Previous experience working the Deepwater Gulf of Mexico and Mexico will be an advantage.
