We are seeking to hire a Senior Reservoir Technologist Analyst for a full-time position in Rockies Development Team. The Rockies Development Team is a dynamic team of geological and engineering professionals managing development of the reservoir and analyzing subsurface performance. The group interacts closely with management, analyzes highly technical information, and plays a critical role in evaluating and implementing strategic decisions.
This position provides technical support to a multi-disciplinary team. Duties include managing, updating, maintaining, and manipulating databases to provide products to be utilized by the engineering staff. Collaboration with other internal teams is also required.
generate reports and queries by integrating numerous databases, prepare presentation graphics, and provide other displays as needed.
support and advise reservoir group in all aspects of ArcGIS
create well cases in IHS Harmony while maintaining updated production and reservoir properties for rate transient analysis
coordinate and work with IT to ensure data sources and links are correct and updated regularly
optimize, or improve upon, team workflows and Spotfire projects using macros or code
generate quality maps, slides, montages, and reports to support technical presentations
minimum of 5 years performing described tasks required
BS in math, computer science or geoscience preferred
strong proficiency in MS Office Suite and ArcGIS required
highly proficient in Spotfire and ARIES
knowledge of querying and integrating information from different type of databases highly desirable (Access, SQL, Oracle)
working knowledge of standard petroleum industry terminology and data sources
some knowledge of programming languages such as VBA, SQL, R, or C++
background in data analytics or statistical learning is a plus
excellent communication skills
advanced analytical skills with an aptitude for math coding
ability to offer creative solutions to problems
energetic self-starter with ability to work in a fast-paced environment and flexibility to work extended hours on occasion
willingness and ability to learn new software packages and workflows
proven ability to interact effectively with a multidisciplinary team
detail oriented individual with proven ability to prioritize and complete multiple projects concurrently and within projected deadlines
ability to satisfy Department of Justice requirements with or without assistance from Encana
