Senior Reservoir Engineer

Location: Bakersfield, California

Our client is a growth oriented upstream oil and gas company that is well positioned with capital funding capability. We are building a base of oil and gas reserves and operated production through a program of aggressively pursuing opportunities in the USA and international markets through the acquisition of producing assets with upside potential, competitive bidding on properties from national oil companies and foreign governments and direct negotiations with property owners. The executive management organization is very small and responsive, with considerable resources and experience gained from being a significant player in worldwide oil and gas activities.

Responsibilities

Senior Reservoir Engineer who will work in conjunction with the Senior Development Geologist to formulate reservoir descriptions and simulation models of company owned and prospective properties, including geostatistical modeling

- Prepare reserve studies, production forecasts and project economics

- Reservoir simulation studies, in house and directing third party consultants

- Field development plans, future drilling and re-completion planning

The Senior Reservoir Engineer will report to Senior Vice President, Petroleum Engineering

Key Requirements

Minimum educational background is expected to include a technical undergraduate degree (B.S. degree in Petroleum or Chemical Engineering) or other engineering discipline and past relevant oil field experience

Minimum of 10 years experience with Major Oil Company a plus, including hands on reservoir simulation

Up to date comprehensive petroleum engineering and geological knowledge base

Experience with current geologic and simulation platforms a plus: Petra, Petrel, CMG, and Eclipse

Must be able to organize studies efficiently and direct the efforts of employees, contractors and consultants to achieve goals and meet deadlines

Strong presentation and communication skills

Excellent English language proficiency (written and spoken)

Willingness and ability to travel domestic and international on a regular basis

Independent (ability to work with minimum supervision to meet deadlines), self-motivated and creative individual committed playing a significant role in growing the company and working in a team oriented, collaborative environment

Compensation includes industry competitive salary commensurate with experience, performance incentives, medical insurance benefits, 401 (k) plan or in lieu of 15% pay differential until in place, and vacation and sick day benefits

Employment Type: Full-Time

Compensation: $130,000 to 250,000 USD Annually
