Description

Basic Function
Provide advanced reservoir engineering technical advice and guidance, with emphasis on dynamic reservoir simulation, reservoir modeling, and complex reservoir engineering projects. Provide expertise in a key specialized area of petroleum engineering. Has outstanding technical capability in their specialty, which has normally received broad industry recognition, and commands the confidence of company management and associates in their ability to analyze situations and recommend practical solutions in area of expertise.
Duties & Responsibilities
Provide significant contributions to reservoir modeling and simulation, and contribute to advanced technical course development in reservoir simulation and modeling
Provide expert advice and assistance on reservoir engineering and simulation studies and problems utilizing area of expertise
Specify criteria and relevant simulation parameters and requirements for development of new projects within area of expertise
Participate in technical reviews and review proposals for new or changed procedures, software or best practices in area of expertise to ensure efficient operations
Recommend, design and oversee suitable outside investigations to resolve problems which exceed current engineering knowledge in their specialty
Make presentations to executive management, program reviews or various technical meetings, as appropriate
Represent Aramco Services Company (ASC) in dealings with vendors, outside consultants, and internal proponents within area of expertise
Conduct seminars, prepare manuals and train and develop ASC or Saudi Aramco engineers and operating personnel in area of expertise
Participate in technical societies and technical groups in area of expertise; represent ASC on industry committees or specialized groups as appropriate
Perform other miscellaneous duties as assigned
Education and Experience
BS in petroleum engineering is required; MS or PhD is desirable, but not required; intensive industry training including appropriate specialized seminars is expected
Must have at least twenty (20) years of related experience, including ten (10) years of intensive experience in their specialty; the ideal candidate will have at least 15 years of related experience, including 10 years of intensive experience in the areas of reservoir modelling and simulation
Working knowledge of standard reservoir simulation software is a requirement (CMG, Eclipse, etc.)
Programming skills a plus – C++, C#, .NET, or other similar programming languages
Relevant experience in the field of data analytics and familiarity with related software is desirable, but not required
Active in related professional societies and will have achieved professional recognition through publications, committee activities, etc.
Must be clearly recognized by both supervisors and colleagues as thoroughly qualified and highly competent in their area of expertise
Must have demonstrated ability to communicate ideas clearly to work effectively with others, and to utilize technical knowledge to achieve practical results
Must be able to represent ASC effectively in external contacts and command technical respect
Must be able to communicate and comprehend accurately, clearly and concisely in English at a level required to perform the job as outlined
Must possess good work habits, a strong work ethic, and be able to adhere to company work hours, policies, and standard business etiquette
