Our client a Oil & gas Operating Company is looking for Sr Reservoir Geologist to be based in Qatar. This is a 1 year contract plus option to renew 1 more year.Situation in organizationWithin Geosciences and Reservoir Division / X Asset. Reporting to the asset OME or RM team leader. The technical validation of his/her work will be through the Geology & Petrophysics Discipline Manager.AccountabilitiesSenior Reservoir Geologist working on the Al Shaheen within an asset team.This person will be the Reservoir Geologist Referent for the Asset.Job DimensionsDefine the extent by which the job is constrained by policy / procedure / instruction and the nature of reporting relationship with the supervisor, that is, the flexibility for independent action- Reservoir Geologist within the Al Shaheen OME or RM asset Team- Responsible for interpretation and integration of geological & petrophysical data within the asset OME and RM asset team.Characterization of the job’s stakes and the scale of human, financial, material or other resources for which it is directly or indirectly responsible or contributing.Al Shaheen is one of the largest offshore oil fields in the world & main oil contributor to Qatar’s production: 300 kbopd of oil and 500 kbwpd of waterAl Shaheen injection: 1000 Kbwpd of water injection and 100 Mscfd of gas injectionEach reservoir needs to be modeled (static and dynamic models) and sector models will be used to prepare the validation of the new development wells and work-over opportunities.Appraisal activities for future development plans must be developed and matured.In charge of annually updating the 1P & 2P STOOIP’s for X reservoir.Technical input for development strategy to prepare Phase I, II & III developments.ACTIVITIESThis part must allow people unfamiliar with the job to understand the role in the organization by describing :The HSE aspectsThe main activities carried outMake sure HSE policy is well followed and understood within the team and with every activity /operation required by the AssetIn charge of presenting the asset geological work status and the conclusions to the shareholders with support of team and discipline.Asset Development & ModelingAct as technical reference for all the geological studies used as input for reservoir evaluation and field development.Lead the building of any new reservoir model required by the assetIn charge of updating any legacy model in order to capture and integrate all recent static or dynamic data acquiredLocal interpretation adjusting intra layers of the Asset reservoir in conjunction with discpline and according to guidelines.Ensure and/or Guarantee the assessment of volumes in place and related uncertainties (1)Define and participate to all the geological studies requested for reservoir evaluations with good autonomy.In charge of performing uncertainty study for static volume evaluation in order to defined key parameters and ranges.Assess reservoir uncertainty & define appraisal activities based on reservoir uncertaintiesIncorporate structural understanding by integration of seismic data and its derivatives, open hole logs including images, losses, variance and conformance issue informationIntegrate the 4D (if available in the area of interest).Contribute to the phase II development phase maturation.QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE REQUIREDProfile required = list of the criteria considered essential to hold the position properlyLevel and type of initial higher educationMore than 10 years of experience requiredPrevious experience on carbonate reservoirs is requiredInternational experience is recommendedMust hold an BSc or higher in GeologyMust have worked on target selection with deep understanding on reservoir modeling.Proven and significant exposure to carbonate reservoirsFluent with PetrelSignificant exposure to reservoir modeling in carbonatesExcellent English both spoken and written Our role in supporting diversity and inclusionAs an international workforce business, we are committed to sourcing personnel that reflects the diversity and values of our client base but also that of Orion Group.
