This position is located in Midland, Texas as a member of the Subsurface and Technology team. The candidate will work in a team environment with reservoir engineers, geoscientists, data scientists and field operations to optimize asset value in the Delaware Basin.

  • 8+ years of reservoir engineering experience, with a preference for 15+ years including 3+ years supporting unconventional reservoirs, preferably in tight oil and/or Permian region of West Texas / New Mexico
  • Background conducting integrated reservoir studies with a knowledge of well testing, special core analysis, PVT phase behavior, reservoir fluid geochemistry and prefer experience with reservoir simulation
  • Experience with pressure transient analysis (PTA) and rate transient analysis (RTA), preferably Kappa or IHS software
  • Experience in production performance analysis in unconventional reservoirs is highly desired
  • Data visualization experience preferred using Spotfire
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a fast paced environment and handle some ambiguity in analysis

  • Collaborate effectively in a Business Unit with multiple disciplines at varying levels of experience
  • Recommend data gathering and testing programs to help enhance subsurface understanding
  • Monitor and evaluate well performance using PTA and RTA analytical techniques in order to provide direction on appraisal and development strategies
  • Work with the team to integrate engineering analysis with available geological and geophysical data to characterize the reservoir and optimize future development
  • Provide mentoring and training to less experienced reservoir and production engineers
  • Present analysis to varying levels of technical and management audiences

Bachelor’s degree is required, with a preference for a Master’s or PhD Degree in Petroleum Engineering or related engineering discipline
This position may be eligible for domestic relocation
