Reporting to the Terra Nova reservoir engineering lead, you will work in the reservoir engineering team as part of a larger integrated Reservoir Management Team (RMT), including production engineers and geoscientists, to provide technical support on the ongoing Terra Nova field operations and potential additional investments within the east coast region.
Apply sound conventional Reservoir Engineering Principles and functional support to business Leaders' requirements
Complete technical reservoir analyses of incremental investments in Terra Nova
Propose and evaluate potential growth opportunities and optimize existing reservoir performance (production optimization)
Monitoring and surveillance of Terra Nova field performance and follow-up with proposals
Undertake fluid characterization and well test analysis
Build and maintain reservoir simulation models
Support reserves evaluations
Provide mentorship and guidance to co-op students, engineers-in-training (EITs) and junior engineers
Experience and Education:
Nine years of oil and gas experience with minimum six years of relevant conventional reservoir engineering
Experience including reservoir simulation, development and planning in water flooded fields
Bachelor’s of engineering in related discipline
Eligible to be registered as a professional engineer through PEGNL
Skills and Knowledge:
Deep understanding of key conventional reservoir engineering principles is essential
Fluid characterization (PVT), SCAL, reservoir characterization, miscible flooding and/or water alternating gas (WAG) experience are considered assets
Basic understanding of economics considered a plus
Ability to work in a multidisciplinary integrated team environment
Well-developed critical and strategic thinking skills, ability to apply logic and challenge assumptions, conclusions and make appropriate recommendations
Understand complex processes, and strive to develop and implement continuous improvement and creative process enhancements
Qualified residents of the province of Newfoundland and Labrador will be given first consideration in the staffing of this position
