Key Accountabilities

This position will work with mature, domestic gas and oil assets. Needs to be very action oriented with a strong set of leadership skills.

•  Performs engineering calculations and analysis

•  Designs and recommends plans for company assets; specifies requirements; conducts tests and evaluates results; estimates costs, including equipment and materials, labor; prepares AFE's for projects, etc

•  Works with Operations to determine needs and identify critical bottle necks and opportunities to achieve maximum outcomes

•  Ensures that assigned projects are executed in accordance with agreed plans, standards, and regulatory requirements as applicable; liaises with operations to ensure that the impacts of project-related activities are minimized and properly managed

•  Coordinates with production, regulatory and EH&S personnel to assure compliance, safety and appropriate integration of systems, programs, procedures, etc.

•  Integrates commercial and technical requirements to successfully develop project solutions

•  Researches, recognizes, analyzes and recommends solutions to difficult problems and issues

•  Incumbents are expected to bring initiative into the job


Education, Certificates, Licenses

• Bachelor's Degree in Petroleum Engineering (or similar)

• Professional Engineer (PE) designation preferred


  • Requires 8+ years of Reservoir & Production Engineering experience.
  • Responsible for assessment & implementation of an active drilling program, surveillance & optimization of 1500 well and business planning (budget, project look-back, reserves)
  • Must be familiar with industry software (Aries, Petra, MS Office, Spotfire, etc.)
  • Previous experience with economic assessment, surveillance & optimization, business planning preferred

Work Environment

  • Primarily office work environment.
  • Routine work involves typical office activities such as standing, sitting, walking, typing, twisting as necessary.
  • May be required to occasionally lift approximately 10 to 50 pounds.
  • Must follow all company safety policies that may require additional considerations when visiting field and plant locations.
  • May require travel
