Description

The primary responsibility for the Reservoir Analyst will be to support the reservoir engineers and geologists within the Newfield Asset Team(s).  Work will include maintenance of the team Aries database, creation and management of specialized Aries linked MS access databases, and pulling and compiling data as required to support the reservoir engineers.

  • Export/import production data from IHS, Aries, Excel, Access and Oracle
  • Consolidate economic cashflows, create one-line summaries and reports from Aries, change price decks, and update tables in Aries database
  • Execute Aries global edits and global updates of input parameters
  • Perform key tasks in business unit year end SEC reserve reporting.  Work with engineers and technicians to consolidate and roll-up business unit reserve cashflows.  Prepare documentation as needed for SEC reporting, quarterly close, and periodic bank updates.
  • Assist with special projects and research including maintenance of databases created from public data
  • Support engineers in preparation of budget and planning
  • Assist in preparing PowerPoint presentations for technical reviews and acquisition

  • Advanced working knowledge of Aries, MS Office products: Access, Excel, Word, Project, and PowerPoint
  • Ability to develop and maintain MS Access databases with VBA macros
  • Perform simple engineering computations, including basic algebra, rapidly and accurately
  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks and efficiently prioritize work to meet deadlines
  • Ability to work independently or collaboratively within a team
  • Above average analytical and communication skills
  • Flexible and able to work in a team environment
  • Bachelors degree in Accounting, Math, Economics, MIS, or engineering a plus
  • Minimum 3 years industry experience
