The successful candidate for this opportunity will play a key role in the company's success by performing the below duties and responsibilities.
Having completed a successful appraisal program in 2017 in our fractured carbonate oil reservoirs, we anticipate drilling development wells in 2019 with first production soon thereafter. This position will require periodic travel to Mexico City and occasional travel to Ciudad del Carmen or the well locations offshore.
Establish and promote safety and environmental performance expectations with employees and contractors in accordance with the Company’s safety policies and Safe + Sound initiative. Our fields have sour associated gas.
Working with Sr. Completion Engineer, facilities team, and service companies, take responsibility for ESP design, installation and reliability. Ensure well construction is consistent with anticipated well rates, fluids and intervention capability.
Responsible for planning, procedures and procurement for a late 2019 appraisal welltest involving ESP.
Responsible for understanding welltest skins and identifying if and how to improve well productivity.
Working with subsurface team and completion engineer, advise on optimal completion types.
Work with project team to ensure adequate metering and instrumentation. Responsible for making sure we have sensors, data historian, database, software, and procedures correct and aligned with contracts.
Identify storage and pumping requirements for production chemicals.
Ensure data historian for welltests and allocated production in place prior to first production.
Surveillance – monitor and optimize wells, implement production logging and pressure build ups. Lead wellbore corrosion monitoring.
Identify candidates for well intervention and write procedures for intervention.
Manage or advise on chemical program, well integrity program, routine and special procedures, flow assurance, metering and allocation.
During multi-year 20 well drilling and completion program support development.
Well positioning for optimal reservoir drainage
Well productivity predictions
Tubing size and artificial lift design
B.S. or M.S. in Petroleum or related engineering
12+ years experience in upstream Oil and Gas
Spanish and English language capability. Strong teamwork, communication skills and initiative
Experience working in multi-disciplinary teams with an operator
Both field and office experience
Inflow/outflow calculations and nodal analysis including practical work experience and software knowledge. Nodal Analysis Ability to build and maintain a 5 to 20 well material balance/tubing/flowline model in support of development, operations and forecasting. Ability to pro-actively predict and advise so as to avoid bottlenecks or slugging.
