Job Overview

Are you highly motivated about optimizing offshore production and solving complex production challenges with joint venture assets? Are you a self-starter who is passionate about production engineering and the prospect of sustaining and growing North Sea basin assets? Working with our manager, you will be part of a dynamic multi-disciplinary team providing technical support to Suncor Energy United Kingdom's (U.K.) joint venture assets at different stages of production, development and exploration.

Key Accountabilities

Lead best-in-class production optimization through wells, facilities and reservoir management
Provide operation support and monitor performance of well drilling, completions and interventions
Build positive relationships and influence important decisions made with partners and internal teams
Collaborate with non-operating counterparts and key technical contacts
Conduct risk identification and identify mitigation practices associated with flow assurance and production chemistry issues e.g. scale, hydrates, wax, asphaltenes and reservoir souring
Make continuous improvement recommendations

Required Qualifications
Experience and Education:
A minimum of seven years of production engineering oil and gas experience with an emphasis on offshore oil field production engineering
Seven years of technical expertise particularly in the areas of production operations, well facilities and reservoir management, and field development planning
Experience collaborating with internal teams and external JV partners is highly attractive
Degree in Engineering, Applied Science or a related degree

Skills and Knowledge:
In-depth knowledge of production engineering/technology including production optimization, well completions design, interventions and workover, and artificial lift
Proficient in well performance and integrated production system modelling tools such as PETEX suite (Prosper, GAP, MBAL)
Familiar with risks and mitigation practices associated with flow assurance and production chemistry issues e.g. scale, hydrates, wax, asphaltenes and reservoir souring
Ability to work in a multi-disciplinary integrated team and independently in an environment where priorities change
Exceptional continuous improvement mindset with strong analytical skills and ability to effectively communicate results

Working Conditions
This is a permanent full time position based in Aberdeen and requires flexibility for occasional travel quarterly to represent Suncor at JV technical meetings with partners in London, U.K.
