Position Specific Description
This position is an integral part of a team to identify and evaluate hydrocarbon zones of interest for development by Trinity Operating (NextEra Gas Infrastructure). The primary focus will be on established unconventional plays onshore in the US. Employees in this role will assist in the drilling of multi-unit Horizontal and vertical wells by integrating petrophysical analysis from well log and core data with regional trends and performance history.
This job is responsible for geo-steering horizontal wells in coordination with the company’s geological, geophysical and engineering personnel. Employees in this role function as a key staff member in planning and executing the company’s drilling programs. Individuals provide 24-hour geo-steering supervision of one or more rigs simultaneously.
Job Duties & Responsibilities
Monitors and communicates well progress through geo-steering reports and seismic profiles and provides frequent updates to coworkers
Provides primary communications link to mudloggers
Performs daily mudlog quality checks
Maintains communication with drilling supervisors
Ensures adherence to directional plans or recommends revisions to plans based on new data acquired or operational difficulties
Travels to wellsites to supervise open hole logging runs
Prepares geological exhibits and testifies before government officials
Performs other job-related duties as assigned
