Description

BASIC FUNCTION:

Contribute actively to all seismic studies and interpretations in the GOM which are required to update existing static models (Tahiti / Jack) or build new ones (Anchor / Ballymore). Actively participate to the discussions with Operator to influence work program related to seismic acquisition (new OBN acquisition on Anchor in 2019) and processing (on-going reprocessing work on Anchor and Jack).

PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

Evaluate and provide geophysical documentation for proposed wells and recompletions or ensure
documentation is received from Operators on non-operated fields
Update seismic interpretation as new data becomes available: picking, well calibration, mapping, depth conversion, interpretation of seismic attributes
Provide support for uncertainty studies: provide range of possible variation of structural map, GRV
Attend and participate in working interest partner meetings
Act as liaison to geophysical services group for any seismic data acquisition, data processing, or reprocessing
Work closely with reservoir engineers and geologists to build / update the static and dynamic model
Evaluate & provide recommendations for partner submitted AFE’s
Provide Geophysical support for Geosciences and Reservoir peer-reviews and validation meetings
Candidate profile
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

MS in Earth Science (Geology or Geophysics), or BS degree with minimum 10 years’ experience
10+ years industry experience as a geophysicist interpreter in the Gulf Of Mexico (Jurassic, Paleogene, Miocene)
Excellent seismic interpretation skills, Extensive experience with interpretation workstation such as GeoFrame or Landmark
Sound understanding of depth conversion techniques, seismic attributes, rock physics and structural Interpretation
Familiarity with seismic acquisition and processing; Familiarity with inversion, depth imaging and time lapse (4D) seismic
Effective presentation and report-writing skills
Ability to work collaboratively as part of a multi-disciplinary team
