Primary purpose of job
Working with a team to identify play concepts and generate prospects for structural, stratigraphic, and unconventional prospects and carry out a quantitative interpretation. Apply skills by using state of the art tools to map and describe prospects, understand reservoir properties, quantify risk, and participate in volumetric and reserves estimations.
Experience & Skills
We seek a Upstream E&P professional, with minimum 15 years G&G experience, preferably with a significant proportion spent with an international oil and gas Operator, (IOC), and a large proportion of that time spent in Exploration/Appraisal activities. Extensive experience in the following: Sequence stratigraphy Sedimentology Reserves/resource calculation Identifying and working up stratigraphic traps Petroleum systems and play fairway analysis Geological interpretation and prospect development Reservoir analysis, stratigraphy, sedimentology Development and maintenance of geological databases and project management Well data analysis •A working knowledge of the following G&G Software is desirable: Petrel, Paradigm, Landmark. Essential Skills to contribute in this role are: -Ability to generate plausible geological concepts, leads and prospects in a play fairway context, with appropriate risk, volume and commercial analysis, in support of a potentially growing inventory of exploration prospects & leads. -Have a sound understanding of petroleum G&G, the theory and application of quantitative basin modelling, sedimentology or structural geology. -Have the ability to interface closely with geophysicists in regard to exploration and appraisal issues and demonstrate a willingness to work in a cooperative, collaborative manner as opposed to working independently.
•Minimum B.Sc. in Geosciences (Geology), MSc or extensive relevant experience is an advantage.
