At Qatar Petroleum, we are committed to one thing aboveall: Excellence.DepartmentINTERNATIONAL UPSTREAM & EXPLORATIONPrimary purpose of jobTo identify, gather and interpret all relevant geological and other relevant data in partnership with team members in order to assess the potential of petroleum basins and new venture exploration opportunities. Carry out rigorous, integrated technical evaluation such as regional basin studies, well correlations, seismic interpretation and mapping, play fairway assessment, structural and stratigraphic reconstruction, risk and volume assessments, to identify and evaluate opportunities consistent with QPs International Exploration Growth objectives.Work closely with partner companies on assets or projects in order to assure technical success in the execution of exploration, and when appropriate, development projects. Provide geoscience input and support to business development opportunities and participates in screening and due diligence activities.Provide guidance in the selection of suitable technologies and software in support of various geoscience activities of the International Exploration and Growth group.Experience & Skills• 15+ years of experience in the oil industry, including practical hands-on geoscience work in New Ventures screening and Exploration functions.• Should be familiar with geoscience operations and current technology.• Should have demonstrable experience in exploration activities, both regional and prospect specific, as well as exposure to development projects in a wide range of depositional and structural settings.• Advanced or Expert proficiency in geological computer applications, including software such as Landmark, Petrel, GeoX, Petrosys, ArcGIS.EducationM.Sc. preferred, BSc. in Geoscience subject minimum.
