We are a global services company specialising in the hyper-spectral scanning, processing and analysis of drill core, rock chips and other geological samples for the mining, oil and gas, and geotechnical industries. The company provides both onsite and bureau based analysis services.We are presently seeking an experienced spectral geologist to process and interpret hyperspectral data collected with the company's core imaging systems. The role will involve spectral analysis of material from various geological domains and deposits at our office in Perth, West Australia. Experience in the application of IR spectroscopy to geometallurgy is a key requirement in this role.The successful applicant's responsibilities will include:Processing and interpretation of hyperspectral data to develop mineralogical and geometallurgical models.Developing spectral interpretation techniques to improve mineralogical identification.Project management with progress reporting.Liaising with clients and communicating with other team members.A current passport and Australian work permit are essential and all candidates will be required to pass drug and alcohol screening and police clearance.Experience in ioGas, Leapfrog and acQuire, or similar software packages, is preferred but not essential. Training in the use of the company's in-house software will be provided.Experience in hyperspectral processing and interpretation, its application in geometallurgy, and who hold a Masters or PhD level degree in geology or similar, is essential.Job Type: Full-timeExperience:hyperspectral processing, interpretation and application: 1 yearEducation:Masters Degree
