The Subsurface Information Management (SIM) Senior Specialist - Production provides technical and data management support to the Western Hemisphere Central (Reservoir Development, Upstream Technology, and Exploration) function. They work closely with the Region/Function SIM to deliver SIM operations and project delivery within their team or region and with Global Domain Leads providing technical expertise and guidance in one or more specific data domains and supporting the delivery of the SIM Strategy.

Degree (or higher) in relevant field and/or 7+ years of experience working with data within the Upstream Oil & Gas industry
Essential experience and job requirements
In supporting the Production domain, the following elements of domain knowledge, understanding and experience shall be evident:ProductionEnd-to-end Upstream Production data types, data flow and lifecycle, Upstream architecture and base management toolkitDefining and implementing data requirements and data standards for Upstream Production data, communicating requirements to IT&S and Data Lake and managing stakeholder relationshipsRelational databases, undertaking simple database queries (Access, SQL), utilising analytical tools to visualise trends and production performanceIntegrating Upstream Production data from different sources, creating derived data sets to deliver analytical insights and automate workflowsReservoirThe use of and management of key Reservoir Engineering tools and resulting datasets (e.g. Nexus, TDRM, Petex toolkit, benchmarking tool, etc.) used day-to-day by the RE community to enable SIM to understand RE workflows. This includes the ability to run a simple Nexus model in the PCE and a simple GAP/MBAL model to get production profilesReservoir data inputs to models (e.g. fluids data, production history, facilities constraints, etc.). Understand where this data comes from and experience the workflow to transform this data to be available for modelling toolsSimple programming code used to analyse Reservoir data (shell scripts, Perl, Python, R, Matlab, etc.) and the use of basic mathematical and statistical analysis/techniques. Also advanced skills in using visualization tools (Power BI, Spotfire) to create dashboards for regional insightsThe use of standard RE tools. Capability to lead the implementation of this within business unit. Examples of this include: monitoring tool for RE behaviours in the PCE (NexTrack); clean up tool for Nexus simulation data (nexclean); and a tool for standardizing visualization of simulation data (NexVis)

Houston/Flexible. Preference for Houston-based, but could work remotely with periodic domestic travel to Houston.
