Slough Heat and Power (SHP) provides water and steam to the Slough Trading Estate by means of a private water network which is fed from our on-site reservoir.
This role will support the water network team by providing the supervision and day to day running of the reservoir and boreholes on the estate. You will have responsibility for ensuring that water levels remain sufficient to cope with our customer demand along with any unexpected demands on our supply (leakages and Fire Brigade emergency use for example) and ensuring the network remains fully compliant with the technical and regulatory requirements.
As part of the role, you would be expected to monitor any water quality issues reported by our customers and attend customer premises to carry out quality testing when required.
Skills and Experience:
A clear understanding of reservoir supervision, water legislation and standards
An understanding of potential problems and risks on reservoir sites
The ability to establish maintenance and monitoring procedures for conducting asset inspections and surveys
Familiar with systems to ensure personal safety when lone working at the reservoir / remote sites.
Essential Functional / Technical Skills
Knowledge of routine maintenance procedures and associated safety practices
Knowledge of procedures for reporting defects and emergencies
Strong focus on health and safety in the workplace
Experience in relating to customers as the first point of contact for customer queries
Overseeing of subcontractors on site
Computer skills, Report and procedure writing skills, basic use of spreadsheets
Solid industry experience with Qualification in Mechanical engineering preferred (Degree, HNC, C&G;)

Ability to multitask and complete successfully complex functions exceeding expectations
