The Senior/Principal Reservoir Petrophysicist is responsible for providing a full and comprehensive petrophysical & formation evaluation analysis and for running petrophysical projects from start to finish as part of CGG integrated studies.
The incumbent will ensure that they deliver excellent products and services, project objectives, technical specifications and production deadlines:
Technical Execution of the Project
Initialising project’s petrophysical parts and prepare workflows in line with quality requirements of the projects. The successful candidate will support reservoir modelling project and need to perform FDL, rock typing, porosity – permeability relation analysis (CCA/MICP analysis) and complex saturation estimations. They will also be expected to run and present tests as required for the optimisation and validation of the workflow and ensure that quality control procedures are applied and that product quality is optimal. The Senior/Principal Reservoir Petrophysicist may also have to supervise more junior staff.
Experience with managing projects and technical people. Responsible for various validation and QCs of the petrophysical analysis done by other staff or clients following QMS procedures.
Communications and Client Relations
Responsible for compiling and communicating technical information with the rest of the organisation and clients and presenting technical results. At times, you may be have to travel to meet clients as and when necessary.
Expected to take the initiative in promoting the use of optional processes and new technologies in order to provide the best technical results possible.
Proactively seek new techniques and innovative solutions.
The ideal candidate will be educated to preferably MSc level in Petrophysics with Earth Sciences or similar with 10 to 15 years in the oil & gas industry.
Extensive experience in petrophysical analysis and formation evaluation with excellent knowledge of standard petrophysical softwares is required.
Experience in Carbonate fields is expected.
Good knowledge of PowerLog, PetroWorks, JLog, PetroLog would be desirable.
