Develop plans and specifications, perform analysis and provide reports on assigned tasks involving design and construction of new assets, operation and maintenance of existing assets or the optimization of assets. Technically involved in the resolution of equipment and operational problems that may include performing field investigation or inspections, performing design work, developing complex statistical models or detailed review of design computations. Ensure compliance with company and industry standards.

This position requires comprehensive knowledge within a functional area. Performs work under general direction and work is reviewed upon completion for adequacy in meeting objectives and ensuring compliance with processes, standards and policies of the organization. Provides technical solutions to a wide range of difficult and complex problems. Solutions are imaginative, thorough, practical and consistent with the objectives of the organization. This position may train and mentor less experienced professionals.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
Manage multiple small- to medium-sized projects of moderate complexity.

Develop and maintain project budgets, schedules and associated resources for projects of moderate complexity.

Develop expertise in the application of engineering principles.

Propose changes to engineering standards, procedures, policies and guidelines.

Prepare engineering analysis for moderately complex projects to include: preliminary design, engineering calculations, life cycle cost and equipment selection.

Create complex simulations and models; distill results in easily understood reports and summaries.

Assure design specifications conform to the latest national and local codes, rules and regulations, and generally accepted good engineering practices.

Conduct surveys to gather field data.

Compile, manipulate, analyze and interpret data taken from surveys or other sources; draw conclusions and identify trends.

Prepare and interpret complex schematics, drawings, layouts and other visual aids; ensure design and documentation meets compliance codes.

Solve problems and develop solutions that call for original approach based on thorough and comprehensive research and technical expertise.

Develop standard operating procedures and methods for the safe and reliable operations and maintenance of engineered systems and works requiring engineering supervision.

Identify and recommend projects for future consideration.

Support company safety programs and initiatives by following EHS and Operations procedures and adhering to established design standards.

Support the preparation of annual capital and O&M; Budgets.

Act as a technical resource for engineers with less experience.

Train less experienced Engineers in project management, documentation and technical expertise.

Support company safety programs and initiatives by following EHS and Operations procedures and adhering to established design standards.

Collaborate with other departments, divisions and organizations to ensure coordination of project timing and interruptions to operations.

Ensure materials and material specifications meet company standards and industry codes for oil and gas industry.

May act as a representative of the company when communicating with regulatory bodies and government agencies.

Specialization:
Perform management of underground gas storage fields.

Provide the use of reservoir engineering techniques and skills to verify field inventory using field pressure data with methods such as material balance and reservoir simulation.

Maintain or improve well deliverability using production engineering techniques and skills.

Perform field and well tests to quantify well performance and reservoir characteristics.

Provide technical support for drilling and completions engineering tasks to manage the drilling of new wells.

Monitor Underground Storage assets conditions through the use of ABI, measurement, gas parameters and regular conversation with Operations' field employees.

Analyze field and well meter data, both current conditions and historical conditions, to ensure that fields are meeting expected performance.

Provide liaison services between Operations, System Control, Optimization and Commercial to ensure Underground Storage assets maintain high Operational Excellence.

Prepare detailed project scope documents for expansion and/or development of Underground Gas Storage assets.

Estimate project costs, prepare AFEs and perform cost management functions.

Develop cost benefit analyses to determine optimal use of company resources.

Familiar with API RP 1170 & 1171 and PHSMA rules for Underground Storage and monitor compliance.

Prepare and support all FERC and State regulatory filings, reports and inquiry responses.

Assess potential underground reservoirs and salt domes / beds for Underground Storage development and competitor Underground Gas storage fields for M&A.;

Minimum Education & Experience:
Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or Engineering Technology.

Five (5) years’ directly related experience.

Valid State Driver's license.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:
Knowledge of oil and natural gas gathering/processing/transmission/storage operations.

Knowledge of design and construction of gathering/processing/transmission/storage assets.

Strong knowledge of federal, state and local rules, regulations and codes that impact gathering/processing/transmission/storage/measurement/compression of oil and natural gas.

Strong knowledge of industry standards for safe, reliable and the cost-effective operation and maintenance of engineered systems and works requiring engineering supervision.

Strong knowledge of the elements of contracts, costing approaches and the influence of conceptual design proposal cost on contract terms.

Ability to communicate effectively in speech and writing with employees at all levels throughout the organization.

Ability to collaborate across functions to improve business processes.

Ability to motivate self, accomplish tasks and achieve goals with negligible supervision.

Ability to identify solutions to problems with creativity and innovative thinking.

Physical Requirements:
May be required to climb ladders, walkways, or scaffolds.

May be required to work at heights up to and exceeding thirty (30) feet and within below grade excavations.

Required to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).

Ability to operate a motor vehicle and travel long distances.

Ability to exert up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or minimal amount of force frequently to lift, carry, push, pull or other move objects.

Ability to sit and view computer terminal for extended period of time.

Ability to operate a computer, copy machine, calculator, telephone and other miscellaneous office equipment.

Working Conditions:
Ability to work indoors in an office environment and, on occasion, in an outdoor environment with exposure to hot, dirty and/or greasy equipment that may generate above average noise levels.

Occasional travel is required.

May be required to work nights, weekends and holidays.

May be required to work non-standard hours, holidays and schedules to include on-call and call-outs.

May be exposed to extreme conditions and inclement weather.
