Based in Adelaide, the role will provide technical judgement and analysis on data obtained or implied from existing and future petroleum wells and reservoirs, to make recommendations to Beach management in defining, evaluating and pursuing opportunities to profitably develop assets.
Accountabilities include but are not limited to:
Provide technical leadership and guidance to all reservoir engineering staff.
Effectively implement the Operational Regulatory Compliance Assurance (ORCA) process to ensure ongoing operational regulatory compliance, as applicable to this position, is achieved.
Apply knowledge and experience to optimise development plans maximising return from assets, and as a recognised subject matter expert, influence processes and decisions outside of immediate area of responsibility. Authoring technical workflow or guidance documents as may be required.
Evaluate and recommend course of action for field development plans and projects submitted by the Operator for fields where Beach is a non-operating joint venture partner.
Provide reservoir engineering support during the planning, execution, monitoring or evaluation of, opportunities for new ventures, mergers or acquisitions ensuring projects have a commercially viable plan.
Keep up to date with emerging technology in Petroleum/Reservoir Engineering and any other related fields. Where appropriate, develop, justify and implement the use of new and innovative technology.
Develop close working relationships with staff in other company Divisions, field personnel, Joint Venture partners and Government bodies as required.
Prepare and present reports to Management, Joint Venture partners and Government bodies as appropriate.
We are looking for technically proficient individuals with extensive experience in petroleum reservoir engineering. Broad experience and understanding of a range hydrocarbon systems and drive mechanisms (gas, oil, water drive, depletion drive) in a range of settings (onshore and offshore), backed by an in-depth understanding of fluid and rock properties, and production variables that impact recovery essential. You will be a recognised mentor and lead in the company for reservoir evaluation, production and asset optimisation.
