Chevron Energy Technology Company (ETC) is seeking a Reservoir Quality Earth Scientist with 10+ years of experience in the oil and gas industry, with an Earth Science, and Reservoir Quality forecasting background. This is a Subject Matter Expert (SME) position in the Reservoir Quality Prediction (RQP) team responsible for delivering business impact and developing differentiated Reservoir Quality Prediction technologies, workflows, and services to support Business Unit exploration and appraisal challenges. Work scope includes a wide variety of Reservoir Quality projects from our worldwide operations, ranging from exploration to detailed multi-well appraisal studies. Projects may involve project management, technical presentations, or delivering training.
Responsibilities for this position may include but are not limited to:
Work with Geocosm consortia members to influence development of and deploy RQP technologies;
Contribute to the delivery and quality of Technology Development and Technology Service reservoir quality related project deliverables;
Work closely with other more experienced experts to provide input to optimize exploration decisions.
Minimum of a Master’s degree in an Earth Science discipline.
Minimum of ten years of relevant industry experience.
Analytical skills are required in sandstone petrology, diagenesis, Reservoir Quality forecasting and sensitivity analysis using Touchstone.
Proficiency in Reservoir Quality Prediction using Touchstone, TMap, and a growing number of diverse technical disciplines.
Ability to accurately assess technical quality and contribute to constructive guidance of BU individuals and teams.
Working knowledge of Petrological Microscope and petrologic thin section analysis.
Past or present affiliation with the Geoscosm consortia.
Ability to work with application developers providing technical guidance with the goal of developing and improving analysis tools and workflows.
Good communication and mentoring skills.
Be collaborative and work closely with project team and technical experts.
Good business acumen, with ability to deliver quality technical work within project timelines and budgets. Must have the flexibility to rapidly adapt to new project groups and technical areas.
Integration capabilities with Basin Modeling and Reservoir Quality
Familiarity with use of sandstone calibration sets and analogs
Core analysis and special core analysis
Relocation may be considered within Chevron parameters
