Senior Reservoir Geologist
We are looking for a Senior Reservoir Geologist to join the Valhall Reservoir Development Asset Team.
Main tasks and responsibilities:
Provide technical justification, undertake planning and support drilling of production wells on the Valhall/Hod Field.
Provide interpretation and integration of key subsurface data sets in support of updated reservoir characterisation.
Maintain and update 3D geological models with new data (dominantly from new wells), capturing key reservoir characteristics to assess and update in place volumes and associated uncertainties.
Progress maturation of remaining reservoir opportunities in an effort to maximize production and increase future recovery of the Valhall/Hod field
Provide geological input for business cases to drill new wells.
Plan and execute work with considerations to operational limitations and constraints. These include HSE, technical integrity, compliance, production and cost factors.
Coaching and mentoring of junior staff.
Qualifications and experience:
Minimum M.Sc. in geology
+/-10 years experience with production geology and / or field development projects and / or well planning and well execution
Preferred experience from carbonate sedimentology/chalk reservoirs
In depth experience with several of the following subjects:
Reservoir characterisation and integration of subsurface data
Structural geology and seismic interpretation
Evaluation and communication of geological uncertainties (risks and opportunities)
Hands on experience with geocellular modelling in field development and/ or field production,
Well target definition and justification,
Detailed well planning, data acquisition and surveillance planning,
Subsurface leadership in well execution and reservoir geosteering
Working knowledge of 4D Seismic, petrophysical data and production data
Familiar with drilling data and completion technology
Operational and offshore/rig experience from wellsite geology is an advantage
Effectively communicate across subsurface disciplines and with drilling and completion community
Organized and structured
Confident approach to decision making
Ability to keep an open mind to possible range of outcomes
Work quickly to firm up mitigations under pressure
Keen to share and learn from others
Team player at all scales
