Our client is seeking a Senior Reservoir Engineer to work within their offices in Melbourne.
You will be required to act as a reservoir engineering advisor to our teams undertaking reservoir management and opportunity generation and pursuit activities in our region South East Australia. The Engineer will provide both mentoring and technical leadership along with directly contributing to technical support and analysis.
Advise and guide reservoir engineers responsible for reservoir management, surveillance and optimization of mature fields in the region.
Oversee and advise during field well-by-well reviews.
Review, recommend and oversee the use of appropriate analytical tools including decline curve analysis, material balance and reservoir simulation. You will directly undertake studies utilising such techniques as required.
Guide/Lead opportunity generation (identification/maturation and approval) for well work and drilling.
Guide volumes, reserves and work plan input to annual Asset Level Business Plans.
Review, recommend and guide technical work relating to work required to maintain field reserves bases.
Prepare and present at JV Technical Committee Meetings.
Maintain an effective working relationship with other related disciplines including Operations, Geoscience, Drilling, Subsurface Engineering, SSHE.
Champion and support sharing of technical learnings across the organisation.
Support technical training of early career engineers through lecturing at internal schools, reviewing and signing off on technical competencies of early career engineers.
Effectively interface with teams onshore and offshore throughout a period of high activity.
Prioritisation of activity is another key element to this role.
Strong leadership and effective communication.
Engineering degree with relevant industry experience of more than 15 years.
Must be skilled and knowledgeable in the following areas:
Mature field reservoir management and surveillance.
Formation Evaluation techniques.
Well Hydraulics Modelling.
Pressure Transient Analysis.
Reserves Assessment and Reporting.
Core Analysis and Fluid Analysis.
Understanding and experience in Well work (wireline and workovers) and Drilling operations.
Must have strong networking and team building skills, capable of coordinating others and monitoring third party service vendors.
Strong oral and written communication skills along with data analysis skills via use of tools such as Excel.
