Job Description
To act as the Senior Reservoir Engineer and technical authority in the Shell T&T Development organization, providing comprehensive reservoir engineering expertise to ongoing growth projects (e.g. Barracuda, Colibri, Loran-Manatee) and existing upstream assets (i.e. ECMA, NCMA and Central Block). The position offers a unique opportunity to have a mixture of study roles focusing on growth projects, and an asset role focusing on well and reservoir management.


Attain and maintain Goal Zero in the office and in the field, including strict adherence to the Life Saving Rules

Lead reservoir engineer for growth projects

Production forecasting in support of concept select, business planning and reserves
Test multiple development scenarios and perform sensitivities on well count, well type, topside requirements and phasing
Lead delivery of field development plans
Provide technical assurance of reservoir models to support development activities

Lead reservoir engineer for well, reservoir and facility management (WRFM)

Identify and evaluate opportunities to safely optimize production
Identify and evaluate key subsurface technical risks and develop mitigation plans
Lead annual reservoir reviews and highlight key improvement areas


Coach, mentor and develop the skills of junior reservoir engineers to help improve technical competence levels and performance
Share technical best practices with the wider Shell community


Minimum of 10 years of reservoir engineering experience with an emphasis on reservoir modeling and simulations
Bachelors or higher degree in Petroleum Engineering or closely related field
Ability to work effectively with multiple teams to deliver and secure buy in for complex technologies and projects
Ability to analyze, support and communicate technical analysis and well-founded decisions to a broad range of potential stakeholders
Ability to integrate HSSE into plans and procedures and to deliver results in a changing organization with highly uncertain data
Motivated individual with strong "can do" mentality and a sense of urgency
IPM, Eclipse and/or Petrel experience a plus
Legal authorization to work in Trinidad & Tobago on a full-time basis for anyone other than current employer
