We are currently seeking an experienced Senior Reservoir Engineer to work out of their offices located north of Houston.


The Senior Reservoir Engineer is responsible for the reservoir engineering evaluation of Business Development opportunities in U.S./Canada and exploration projects in the whole American continent.




  • Perform reservoir engineering analysis: Fluid Description, Core Analysis, Production data Analysis, Material Balance, dynamic modeling
  • Contribute to subsurface studies, assessment of assets and opportunities. Be able to integrate effectively with multi-disciplinary teams in the implementation of projects
  • Conduct integrated Reservoir Engineering Analysis to support technical inputs in a restricted time framework
  • Quantification of uncertainties and risks associated to development projects. Highly orientated to introduce Safety, Environment and Health practices
  • Evaluate business opportunities by using state of the art technologies


  • The legal authorization to work in the US for anyone other than current employer
  • Bachelor's degree or higher in an engineering discipline (Petroleum Engineer or similar)
  • At least 10 years of experience in a similar position is highly preferred
  • Experience working in multidisciplinary teams promoting integration and interaction with other disciplines (Geology, Geophysics, Petrophysical, Drilling & Completion)
  • Exposure to a broad range of subsurface environments and reservoirs in a number of diverse geographical and depositional environments
  • Proven experience on horizontal well technology and hydraulic fracturing activities, from the theoretical and practical perspective
  • Proven experience on oil sands projects, with good skills in CMG simulation software
  • General knowledge of existing projects and major players in Canadian basins will be appreciated
  • Proven capability to conduct subsurface assessments within resource constraints and achieve desired outcomes
  • Demonstrated high level of problem solving skills, approaching problems and issues with well-thought out and creative solutions
  • High degree of competency in generation of concise technical reports and presentations and delivery of critical information
  • Familiarity and competence with the appropriate subsurface engineering software (including but not limited to Eclipse, Saphir, Petroleum Experts, Fekete RTA or equivalent software), and willingness to learn and adapt to new software
  • Willingness and ability to travel domestically and internationally for up to 10% of the time on Company business


Training, languages and other competences

  • Training in all reservoir engineering aspects and applications, including reservoir simulation tools, mainly focusing in oil sands and unconventional resources
  • Language: English, Spanish (as a plus)
