Job SummaryOur client, a fast-growing mid-sized E & P is searching for an experienced, highly technical, and innovative Senior Reservoir Engineer to join their team. This exciting and fast paced opportunity will allow you to develop as a fully integrated member of the SW Saskatchewan Asset Team with respect to Field/Pool Developments, Expansion and Budget Planning.Reporting To: VP EngineeringPrimary Role Objectives – Scope of work ( in consultation with Business Unit Manager)Primary Liaison between The Team and the Reservoir Group to insure uncertainties and risks are understood and quantified for pool development purposes.Provide in depth Reservoir Analyses, as a part of the Asset Team, as it relates to:- Development Planning, Optimization with both Short (Budget) and Long Term (Strategic) views- A&D; opportunities- Reserves Evaluations and Strategies- AER Compliance and ApplicationsDetailed Responsibilities -Provide technical support to the asset team to optimize or enhance the recoveries of existing EOR strategies in the area. Which may include, or combination of:- Analog assessments and validations- Analytical “Classic” reservoir performance forecast- Reservoir simulation: Detailed full to simple sector models- Production forecasting; using classical analogy or numerical modelling methods- Work closely with exploitation, geology & operations to best develop project scopes, economics & executionWork in tandem with the Reservoir Group to align tasks and prioritize projects that are congruent with the Reservoir Development Plan. Provide asset team feedback with regards to simulations and other technical work being performed on behalf of the team. Including:- Primary recovery optimization; Fracture design, optimal well spacing, etc.- Define, update and co-ordinate objectives and expectations for the various working projects, of which includes reservoir modelling, pilot scoping, etc.- Integration of the work/models with the Teams current and past technical analyses, associated data and interpretations- Optimizing the work/model to meet the objectives agreed upon- Provide insight, from a reservoir perspective, on potential benefit of Capital opportunities (Facilities expansions, land acquisitions, infill drilling et….)Communication and Interpretation of Advanced Technical studies and concepts to the TeamResponsible for proper field testing requirements/evaluations including coordinating with operations group (includes but not limited to; DFIT/BU analysis, PTA, Press surveys)Identifying data needs (Core, PVT, etc.) and coordinate collection.Review reserves assignments, technical justification and strategies as it relates to the Reservoir Engineering role (i.e. reservoir parameters, theoretical vs booked recoveries, etc.)Technically review and validate our corporate inventories for OOIP, Recovery Factor’s, and Locations in conjunction with the Manager of Reservoir Development etc.Provide Reservoir Engineering support for strategic acquisitions and divestment opportunitiesPreferred Candidate Attributes10-25 years of Reservoir Engineering ExperienceMin 5 (recent) years with a detailed Focus on “pure” Reservoir Engineering in Waterfloods, ASP and other EOR applicationsAbility to manage several projects simultaneouslyExcellent Understanding of the effective application of Reservoir Simulation in conjunction with Analytical Methods in Development PlanningExcellent communicator with the ability to translate complex technical ideas to a diverse asset teamWorking Knowledge of Reservoir Simulation Tools such as Stream-Sim, Petrel & EclipseWell rounded experience base focused on Reservoir analyses in the context of EOR /Waterflood pool optimization and redevelopmentWell Versed in the tools and application of modern data analytics as it relates to reservoir management and developmentWe thank all applicants for their interest in applying for this position; however, only candidates selected for interviews will be contacted.Job Type: Full-timeJob Location:Calgary, ABRequired experience:Reservoir Engineering: 10 yearsEOR/Waterflood: 5 years
