Candidates should be proficient in all areas of Reservoir Engineering including reservoir characterization, performance analysis, risk analysis, well test, analysis, material balance, fluid properties, volumetric reserve estimation, well and project economics.
Performs production decline curve, volumetric and material balance analysis.
Performs reserve and economic evaluations of drilling and completion, recompletion, workover and acquisition/divestiture opportunities and makes recommendations to management.
Analyzes petrophysical, pressure and production data to aid well completion, workover operations and reservoir development.
Works with technical staff and consultants to complete reservoir studies as needed.
Performs computer simulations of oil and gas reservoirs to aid in reservoir management including analytical, black oil and compositional models.
Develops correlations for reservoir properties from available well data to use in reservoir simulation.
Provides expert testimony for regulatory hearings.
Evaluates and makes recommendations on potential acquisitions and divestitures.
Represents the company at joint interest and technical meetings.
Recommends appropriate data gathering and laboratory analysis for engineering and geologic studies.
Develops processes and workflows for duties required.
Mentoring and instruction of less experienced individuals as required.
Outstanding verbal, written and presentation skills; Candidate will be presenting to company executives
Proficient computer and data analysis skills
Ability to apply advanced mathematical concepts
Operations experience a plus
Proven team player
Bachelor of Science in Petroleum Engineering or related engineering discipline
5+ years of recent, relevant industry experience; Unconventional experience preferred
Skilled in industry software required (CMG and IHS Harmony preferred)
Knowledge of principles of fluid flow theory, pressure transient and production analysis
General knowledge of petrophysics, geology and geophysics
Ability to manage multiple tasks and efficiently prioritize work to meet deadlines
Ability to proficiently utilize technical and administrative personnel resources
Ability to work independently and accomplish tasks with minimal supervision
