Support field and prospect evaluation work by providing well performance evaluation, determination of reservoir rock and fluid properties, numerical simulation to predict future production profiles for input in development decisions, identify risks and prepare surveillance and mitigation plans.
Safety, Quality & Environment
Monitor and ensure compliance to all relevant safety, quality and environmental management procedures and controls within a defined area of reservoir activity to guarantee employee safety, legislative compliance, delivery of high quality products/service and a responsible environmental attitude.
Appraisal & Prospect Evaluation
Support Exploration prospect evaluations jointly with the team and provide guidance on appraisal activities within the Business Unit. Advise Mubadala Petroleum on investment prospects based on the technical evaluations. Build appropriate dynamic simulation models of discovery. Define appraisal strategy/plan incl data acquisition requirements.
Carry-out field development planning studies with due regard to uncertainty and risk analysis.
Interpret and QC well test, PVT and SCAL data prior using for development plan studies
Provide all required data (fluid, pressures, flow rates, etc) both to internal and external parties.
Define and identify uncertainty in reservoir performance through numerical simulation models and surveillance.
Construct and run multiple dynamic simulation models including full-field and refined focussed models. Provide input to Field Development Plan and Reeservoir Management Plan.
Reservoir Performance Analysis, Enhancement & Production Operations
Review and assess drilling/work over objectives / requirements based on well and reservoir performance. Provide data and analysis for production optimisation.
Hydrocarbon Resource Management
Estimate recovery factors and reserves from simulations models and analytical methods. Use material balance, simulation models, and/or analogue data to forecast the production.
Organise and supervise the activities and work of national reservoir engineer to ensure that all work is completed timely and to high standard. Stimulate subordinates and contribute to the identification of opportunities for continuous improvement of department, processes and practices taking into account ‘international best practice’, improvement of business processes, cost reduction and productivity improvement. Establish and drive the efforts on sharing capabilities with in various locations.
A bachelor’s degree in Petroleum/ Reservoir engineering. A Masters degree in reservoir engineering would be advantageous.
Minimum 10 - 15 years of experience in reservoir engineering of which at least 7 years in reservoir simulation would be required. Experience in numerical simulation, preferably Eclipse.
