Encana is looking for a Senior Reservoir Engineer to join the Anadarko Reservoir Characterization team. This position will be based in The Woodlands, TX and will be reporting to the reservoir engineering manager. This position will be responsible for reservoir engineering evaluations on the SCOOP/STACK properties to predict reservoir performance, evaluate spacing/stacking and completion strategies, and optimize future depletion and development plans.
Collaborate with other teams and disciplines
Play an active role in the data acquisition program and integrated subsurface studies to enhance the geologic and reservoir understanding in the Anadarko basin.
Conduct technical studies for field development optimization and support development team to identify and evaluate technical and economic merits of new investment opportunities.
Perform look back on recent projects and incorporate findings in the future development plan.
Identify and quantify key subsurface uncertainties that impact the project economics.
Utilize surveillance tools to monitor performance of existing wells and make recommendations as necessary to maximize value and efficiency.
Develop new concepts in understanding unconventional reservoir performance and deliver the technology to the development team in a timely manner to impact the development plan.
Provide necessary support to development team on depletion plan, annual budget and year-end reserve.
Monitor and analyze industry activities in the basin to assist field development, A&D; activities, etc.
Mentoring of less experienced engineers.
Must be legally eligible to work in the U.S.
Bachelor’s or master’s degree in engineering, petroleum engineering is preferred.
Minimum 10 years of industry experience as a reservoir engineer, Anadarko basin experience is a plus.
Experience in development of unconventional resource plays, specifically field development optimization for well spacing, staking and completion design.
Familiarity with annual budget, reserve and depletion plan processes.
Experience in integrated field studies and ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary and collaborative team environment.
Strong technical and economic evaluation skills, specifically solid knowledge of dynamic reservoir modeling, rate transient analysis, reserve estimation and economic/risk analysis.
Knowledge of data analytics and experience in multivariate analysis is a plus.
Working knowledge of closely related disciplines such as geology and geophysics, completion engineering and production engineering, as well as geomechanics.
Proficient in ARIES, Spotfire, PROSPER, IHS Harmony, Eclipse, CMG or an equivalent reservoir simulation software.
Excellent time management skills with ability to manage multiple tasks and efficiently prioritize work to meet deadlines.
Self-driven and ability to work under minimal supervision and capable of working in a team environment along with other engineers and geoscientists.
Strong communication skills with the ability to effectively present information to upper management and peer groups on both formal and informal platforms.
Must be a creative thinker with a willingness to challenge the status quo and the ability to implement new ideas, processes and technologies.
Proven ability to interact with a variety of contacts, both internal and external, including management and industry partners to identify and implement advanced reservoir engineering technologies.
Ability and willingness to mentor others.
