Our client a Oil & gas Operating Company is looking for Sr Reservoir Engineer to be based in Qatar. This is a 1 year contract plus option to renew 1 more year.AccountabilitiesPrimary Purpose / reason to exist of the position within the organization.Resume or accelerate the development of the Al Shaheen reservoirs by studying, maturing and proposing for validation the drilling of new wells and/or work-over opportunities from existing slots or from future slots for additional phases of field development and strategy, definition of development patterns, reserves/resources assessments, and appraisal strategy. Focus on understanding and description of production mechanisms (water-flooding, gas injection) involved in sector, full-field or phenomenological reservoir models.Job DimensionsDefine the extent by which the job is constrained by policy / procedure / instruction and the nature of reporting relationship with the supervisor, that is, the flexibility for independent actionParticipation with large autonomy in integrated reservoir engineering studies or reservoir mono-disciplinary studies, under the responsibility of the Asset Team Lead (RM or OME) or Asset Manager, and active follow-up and animation of the reservoir aspects of the studies, to understand and represent the production mechanisms involved.Studies are to be carried out as per existing Opportunity Maturation Process (OMP).Without supervised staff.Field StakesAl Shaheen is one of the largest offshore oil fields in the world & main oil contributor to Qatar’s production: 300 kbopd of oil and 500 kbwpd of waterAl Shaheen injection: 1000 Kbwpd of water injection and 100 Mscfd of gas injectionEach reservoir needs to be modeled (static and dynamic models) and sector models will be used to prepare the validation of the new development wells and work-over opportunities.EOR projects are under study with regular data acquisition campaigns.In charge of regularly evaluating the current oil potential and the reserves for each reservoir.Qualifications & Experience RequiredProfile required = list of the criteria considered essential to hold the position properlyLevel and type of initial higher educationTechnical, personal and / or linguistic competencies; Professional or HSE certificationsMaster Degree or Bachelor Degree with relevant industry experience in Reservoir or Petroleum Engineering discipline or other relevant technical discipline qualification.8 to 10 years of experience in similar roles or related roles in the oil and gas environment.Reservoir and geoscience working experience in an operated asset.Strong experience in reservoir management and monitoring.Strong experience on reservoir dynamic modeling (Eclipse) and model history matching.Strong communication and collaboration skills.Team player, persuasive, open minded, hard worker, delivery orientated.Working experience in the middle East would be a plus.Fluent in written and spoken English.HSE trainings.
